Bulgaria’s telecoms market grew close to 5% last year to €2.16 billion, according to the Communications Regulation Commission, and the growth came in exactly the areas Vivacom has prioritised: fibre, 5G and television.
Across the market, internet revenue rose more than 9% to €1.21 billion as households and businesses moved onto faster fixed and mobile connections. Television changed shape too: nationally, IPTV has passed a million households to become the most widely used television platform, while cable and satellite decline. Vivacom has backed that shift through EON platform, United Group’s award-winning TV platform developed by United Cloud. Mobile was a particular bright spot, with Vivacom growing its share of service revenue over the year.
Stan Miller, CEO of United Group, said: “Vivacom is a clear example of how United Group works. Telecoms and media are different businesses and every market is unique, so each is led by its own management team, expert in its field and closest to its customers. Our role is to set the strategy, allocate capital with discipline, and back the local team with the expertise and scale of the Group. In Bulgaria that has meant sustained investment in fibre, 5G and EON, and a business built to create value over years rather than a single strong year. We will keep backing it.”
Vivacom is a leading provider of mobile, fixed broadband and television services in Bulgaria, and has been part of United Group since 2020.
