Roger Munger is a senior lawyer with over 30 years of experience working in finance in the City of London, including as Global General Counsel of VTB Capital, General Counsel of the Financial Markets Division of ABN AMRO Bank, and before that positions at Swiss Bank Corporation and MorganStanley.
He has built and co-ordinated large cross border legal teams and has extensive experience in complex private equity and special situations, particularly contentious and hostile enforcement situations, M&A and contested-control situations. These cases include the hostile takeover of ABN AMRO by RBS, as well as numerous disputes in Central & Eastern Europe.
On contentious matters, Roger has run complex regulatory investigations including the FCA, the SEC, the CFTC and the US Department of Justice as well as numerous commercial civil litigation cases across a range of complex banking products and commodities.
Roger has acted as senior advisor to CEOs and boards of a number of institutions including FCA and PRA regulated banks as well as overseas regulated and unregulated investment companies. He has established bank governance structures and committees from inception and sat on the boards of banks and other financial institutions and chaired various bank committees.
Roger holds a LLM from University College London, a JD from the University of Colorado, and a BA from Carleton College in the United States.
