Accessibility on the site

Last updated: 26/06/2025

United Group is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. United Group strives to make our website accessible and user-friendly in accordance with the Accessibility Act (EAA) and the harmonised European standard EN 301 549, which aligns with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA. Digital accessibility is not just a target we aim to achieve, but an ongoing commitment that we carry in every aspect of our digital service delivery. We recognize that this requires continuous monitoring, improvement, and adaptation. In the sections below, we elaborate on the various efforts that have been undertaken to address our progress in ensuring digital accessibility for all.

How We Support Accessibility

A key element of our accessibility initiative is our engagement with a third-party accessibility consulting organization to help bring the website into conformance. We use industry standard accessibility methods and tools to accomplish this, in accordance with the relevant version of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) as set forth by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) the internet’s main international standards-setting organization. As part of our steadfast commitment to enhancing and addressing accessibility challenges, we have taken the following measures:

• Integrated accessibility as part of our internal policies and digital strategy.

• Conducted automated scans, manual audits and testing using recognised methodologies and tools.

• Implemented fixes based on the identified gaps to improve compliance with EN 301 549.

• Integrated an accessibility widget, offering users tools to customise their experience (e.g. contrast, text size, screen reader optimisation, keyboard navigation). People can choose combinations that suit their needs.

• Built accessibility into our design and development processes from the outset.

• Trained relevant teams to adopt accessibility best practices across content and code.

• Enabled Automated Remediation Technology (ART) for all visitors, whether they use assistive technology or not. ART does not detect Assistive Technology usage; rather, it improves accessibility for all site visitors regardless of ability by deploying remediation capabilities.

Continuous Improvement

We are actively working to improve the accessibility of our website in the belief that it is our collective moral obligation to allow seamless, accessible and unhindered use also for those of us with disabilities. In an ongoing effort to continually improve and remediate accessibility issues, we also regularly scan our website with Accessibility Scanner and manual auditors to identify and fix every possible accessibility barrier on our site. Despite our efforts and fixes to make all pages and content fully accessible, we recognise that some areas may require further enhancements. Our commitment is ongoing, and we continuously review and refine the website to better meet the needs of all users.

Limitations and Areas Under Review

Despite our efforts, some areas of the website may not yet be fully accessible. Known issues include:

• Certain downloadable documents (PDFs, Word) may not be fully tagged for accessibility and be fully optimised for screen readers.

• Older videos may not contain accurate captions, audio descriptions or transcripts.

• Third-party integrations may have accessibility constraints beyond our control

We are actively working to resolve these issues, and we are addressing these as part of our accessibility roadmap.
