Sustainable Governance
Ensuring the success of our sustainability initiatives is paramount. Therefore, we have implemented a comprehensive governance framework embedding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations into our decision-making processes. This framework guarantees accountability and transparency across all organizational levels.
Integration Into Business Strategy
ESG considerations are fundamental to our business strategy. Our Board of Directors evaluates how ESG goals align with long-term objectives, assessing their impact on financial performance, and identifying opportunities to create value through sustainable practices.
Supporting The Board Of Directors’ Commitment
In its steadfast commitment to environmental performance, health and safety, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability, United Group’s Board of Directors is assisted by the ESG Committee. This internal senior executive group, consisting of executive and cross-functional management, coordinates ESG strategy, oversees initiatives, and ensures transparent communication with employees, investors, and stakeholders. The ESG Committee, chaired by the VP Technology, presents quarterly reports summarizing actions taken and progress in achieving ESG goals.
Accelerating Sustainability Implementation
To expedite our sustainability strategy, we introduced a dedicated Sustainability function in 2022. Reporting directly to the United Group’s CEO, this function leads efforts to embed sustainability into strategy, operations, and culture. The goal is to engage stakeholders and drive measurable progress towards our sustainability objectives.
Sustainability performance is intricately woven into our management remuneration package, ensuring that accountability for environmentally and socially responsible practices is not only acknowledged but also actively incentivized, propelling our commitment to sustainability forward.
Extending Governance Locally
Our governance structure extends to the operating entity level with the establishment of Local ESG Committees. These committees promote accountability and directly engage employees in sustainability initiatives. Each operating company has a Local Sustainability Manager and/or Sustainability Champions, ensuring alignment with the unique needs and opportunities in each market.
