SBB Company has announced its intension to digitize its television services for all its users in Belgrade at no cost to the users. This is part of the company’s recent commitment to invest EUR 293m in Serbia over the next five years, which will focus on developing the country’s digital infrastructure.

“The new investment will significantly increase the availability of the high-quality digital services that we offer our users. The year-and-a-half project for full transition from analogue to digital television signal will enable SBB users in Belgrade to enjoy all the advantages of digital television without additional costs or need to sign new contracts,” stated Aleksandar Seratlić, the CEO of SBB, adding that “modern telecommunications is pivotal to Serbian development and we are proud to continue to invest in its digital infrastructure, which is of huge significance for the country and its citizens. The SBB cable network is already equipped for the future. We will strive to be the first to introduce them to the market, so that our users will always be the first to enjoy new innovations in watching television, high-speed networks, and modern telephony.”

In addition to providing higher quality picture and sound, the shift to the digital signal enables users also get an even greater selection of television programming. Instead of 60 they will get more than 100 of the most popular channels in the basic package, including BBC World, Rai Uno, Rai Due, RTL, Comedy Central, Prva World, and as many as 16 channels in HD resolution (TOP, SK, N1, Pikaboo, Vavoom, History, 24Kitchen, etc.). Also available to them will be the TV Guide, which provides a program schedule for up to three days in advance, as well as the option of arranging their favorite television channels to personal preferences.

The digitalization process of Belgrade will proceed in phases, several parts of the city at a time. Each user will be individually contacted by the SBB Technical Support before technicians are dispatched to their home address. When the digitalization process is completed, Belgrade will be the second city in Serbia, after Novi Sad, where SBB has fully digitalized its users.
